釋迦牟尼佛的精神之一是: 「無諍」。

One of the morale (Spirit) of Sakyamuni Buddha is [No Dispute].

  這個精神,在很久很久以前,早就遭佛教徒給遺忘了,不只遺忘,很少有人提及。
This morale is from long long ago, already forgotten by Buddhist students long ago, not only forgotten, very little bring it up too. 

  而在俗世人間,這兩個字,似乎沒有什麼作用,莫不是諍來諍去。
In Sentient realm, this 2 words seem not to have any effect, as most dispute here and there.
 

  孟子曰:Mencius said:
  「吾豈好辯,吾不得已也!」

Where have I been interest in arguments, I can’t help it only!

  連聖人亦如此,何況其他!
Even saintly one is like these, what more others!

  佛陀看出,諍有多害:

Buddha perceived that Disputes have lots of harmful effects:

  一、不公平。No equality.
  二、揭露瘡疤。Expose hidden personal secrets.
  三、揚惡。Promote evil.
  四、污辱。Insult.
  五、得罪。Offend.
  六、報復。Revenge.
  七、無所不用其極。Leaving no stones unturned.
  八、毀損。Damage.

  佛說:Buddha said:


  「與對手爭執,你我均受損。」
Disputing with opponents, both also received damages.

  佛說:Buddha said: 

  「在爭執之中,理智完全喪失,此時,只有不公平的手段。」
When in disputes, all reasoning abilities are completely lost, at this time, only unfair or unequal practice is left.

  佛說:Buddha said:

  「別無他益。」
Don’t have any other benefit.

  我自己感覺到,在小小的教界,「無諍」蕩然無存。
I personally feel that in this small small religious arena, [No Dispute] clearly don’t remain.

  佛教教派各立山頭,互不來往,彼此攻訐的,多的是。
The different sectors of Buddhism, do not communicate with each other, many scorn each other.

  甚至有六大門派,圍攻「光明頂」的幼稚舉止,舉之不勝。
There is even this childish act of 6 big sectors surrounding [Guang Ming Peak] in attack, too numerous to enumerate. (this is from a kungfu story).

  也有專門鬥爭他人的幫派集團,除自己之外,專門攻擊他人。
There are also those specialised in battling other sectors or institutions, except self, specialise in attacking others.
這些都是「無可奈何」的事,真是動千江水。
All these are [Cannot be help] matters, really like lifting waters of thousand rivers.

  由於悟後。Because after enlightenment.

  早就明白「無諍三昧」了。I already understand [No Dispute Samadhi] earlier on.

  因而只有「不回應」了。Thus, I only [Do not react] at all.

  我早知:I already know:


  「不落言詮。」Not to be affect or feature in rumours and hearsay.

  「勿流於言說。」Not flow with tide of others’ words.

  「語言無用。」Spoken words are of no use.

  我們行者,修的是身清淨、口清淨、意清淨。
Us, cultivators, cultivate Body, Speech, Mind, purity.

  修行全在于提升及淨化。
Cultivation aims to enhance and purify.
言語及文字也是一樣的,勿進入「鬥爭」的陷阱。
Speech and written characters also the same, do not enter into trap of  [battles].

  在我的內心世界,我趨向「心平氣和」。
In my innermost heart’s world, my inclination is [Heart stable Qi harmonised].
我想我的說法及寫作,要清淨婉轉,來表達我的善意、誠意、情意。
I think that my dharma speech and written articles, need to be pure and subtle, to express my kindness, sincerely, affection.

  我無諍。I have no dispute.
  你無諍。You have no dispute.
  他無諍。He (Others) have no dispute.
  一片祥和。A spread of peaceful harmony.

  詩:Poem:
  教界吹起了一陣風

A gust of wind blows within the Religious world 

  諍而不是淨
Dispute then not pure

  大家爭紅
All angered and reddened. 
(紅 red – means heated up emotionally here) 

  何必白眼相向
Why need to to face each other with disdain
(白眼 white eye – means showing disdain)

  口沫紛飛
Saliva floating everywhere

  忘卻了如來的教義
Forgotten Tathagata’s teaching

  欣喜相逢
Prefer joyous meetings

  門派紛紛而立
Sectors set up in rapid succession

  均言最勝
All self proclaimed as the best

  讓我蹙起了眉峰
Cause puckering of my brows’ peak.
